A collection of photos to share with family, friends and others who are interested in my work. Instead of attaching photos to emails I have decided to place them on a blog so people can see them. I hope to post daily, or near daily. I won't promise perfection. I will show my failures as well as successes. Please enjoy and please comment. Negative and positive. Don't like a photo? Say so. Each photo is a learning opportunity and honest comments are welcome.

Photo of the Day......Ring Billed Gulls
While taking a Christmas morning walk along Lake Springfield we came upon a busy flock of Ring Billed Gulls. This is our first time spotting Ring Bills on Lake Springfield. Someone had thrown them a slice of bread and the frenzy was on. What ISO?! Where do I focus?! How do I find composition and focus?! Oh damn just shoot! In hindsight I realize that there was not as much light as I thought. It was near midday but it was also just past Winter Solstice. I should have shot at at least 200 if not 320 to keep the shutter above 1/1000th at all times. Even big birds are quick and blur their wings at less than 1/1000th.

Photo of the Day.......New Mexico Historical Marker
I have to wonder what someone had against whatever it was located on the road running west to Springer New Mexico. Looks like someone took a shotgun to it. The bullet holes look more like indiscriminate fire. .22 caliber maybe. Photo take with the D10 on July 1st. 2011 on New Mexico Highway 406 right near where the sticker says it is.
